I agree with the author as I love using the Vonage and Skype softphones to make calls.
With a good mic, sound card and a fast processor, it’s getting hard to tell what’s a phone these days.

I was thinking about the softphone the other day. I was wondering if I was confused or if I just haven’t seen the light.
While being able to call people on the computer is nice. Wouldn’t it be just as easy to pick up the cell phone? Look at this way. You’ll be using the softphone when you’re away from home or work (maybe at the coffee house or something). Why bother flipping the laptop open just to make a call? I can see how it would benefit people being over seas but even then, would the cost of the softphone out-weigh the price of the international calls?
Please help me understand.
Andy, thanks for the blurb. I think the URL you posted is not correct, though š
