In a bold move, an upstart VoIP provider has asked the FCC to prevent the USA’s cable giants and DSL providers from employing tactics that discriminate against third party VoIP providers.
One has to love the moxy of the cable industry’s trade group when their spokes person obfuscates the reality in his reply. Saying the MSO’s don’t deploy tactics to impact what their customers can do over the connection that impacts third parties is hillarious. All one has to look at is the blocking of port 25 by Cox Communications. If they block that port, they can block any IP port.
That is reason alone for the VoIP carriers to be concerned.
Great blogs.. check out THE Man’s Site Steve Gibson grc.com for excluded ports
