Packet 8 Goes Retail Again

In what could possibly help Packet8 and spur on the acceptance of VideoPhone capabilities in the home, Packet8 announced a relationship with CompUSA, the USA’s largest chain of computer oriented big box stores.

While I still think the XTEN concept of a softvideo phone is more appropos, Packet8’s service does work well enough. I think though they need to get to where Sightspeed is with respect to frames per second, not be at the limited 256k upload which in periods of heavy Internet traffic create less than full motion video.
