Is anyone else having issues with TypePad? Over the past two weeks I have tried to do some long posts or tried to edit posts originatng via AudioBlog but Typepad is being naughty.
This is likely a result of the so called Typepad upgrade to a new release and that’s why I think I’ve had crashes, format errors and more. As a result I’ve lost some posts, or had to rewrite them. Since time is money, its impacting my blogging and I’m losing sleep.
The funny thing is the original Typepad worked flawlessly. I even tried composing my blogs in Word and pasting them in, but ended up having to reformat them. I guess Notepad is next if I want to insure I can save my text before posting…OUCH.
Since I’m a paying customer I hope they realize that we don’t pay to beta test.
Let me know if your having the same issues…

I’ve had problems with their new WYSIWYG feature. I couldn’t get my posts to look the way I wanted them to and HTML tags that I added were being removed. I have opened a ticket and they are looking into it. In the meantime I have switched back to the plain text version.
Since Typepad introduced the WYSIWYG interface I have been having no end of problems trying to format posts so that they look the way I want them to. I have resisted posting anything because on the whole I am pleased
Yep, I’ve been having problems with both of my blogs – from the sounds of it the same ones as you. It’s been painful for the last couple of weeks. In response to my ticket they initially suggested I switch browser… which wasn’t very helpful.
No problems with the upgrade for me, sorry. My biggest problem with Typepad is probably down to Firefox and the Mac – I find it a lot easier and clearer and more reliable with IE on the PC.
Oh, and I love it! Typepad is a lot more usable for me now. I really don’t want to choose a third-party blogging tool. I just want a computer-as-appliance. The more I can exist just in the browser, the better. And that includes word processing, and Typepad’s taken me a step closer to that.
I’ve switched it off completely too, it was driving me nuts.
I suspect that editing text (using the convert to link button especially) in the extended section has also worsened, but I switched up to Firefox 1.0 at around the same time so I can’t be 100% sure that this doesn’t play a part.
I also have to admit that I’ve not yet opened a help ticket because I’m thinking of switching to MT.
After my post yesterday about the problems I have been experiencing with Typepad, I have noticed that there are more people who are less than happy with the new features implemented. Darren over at Notes To Myself doesn’t like the
No problems posting from home but can not thru the firewall at work (after hours!). Suspect because of tight control on “active” web content.
