The GSM Association Awards 2005 – Nominee Shortlist features Bridgeport Networks, a company I mentioned earlier today. It seems their network convergence gateway has caught the attention of the GSM Association Awards Committee. The gateway converges today’s existing mobile networks with broadband networks such as cable, DSL, etc. And that means a true bridging of the SS7 and SIP worlds. The company’s solution is clearly aligned with SIP/IMS methodologies by allowing any SIP endpoint to be enabled with a mobile # identity.
