LCS…..yawn…
I went to the Microsoft booth yesterday, and like so many first releases from Microsoft, the Live Communications Server was a lot of fancy perfume, sexy lipstick and a nice dress, but it was still underage and not ready to play with the boys, even though it really wants to.
Nothing was groundbreaking. Nothing was new. Nothing was compelling enough to say, OH BABY…..come away with me like Nora Jones sings. It was though another execution by the leading package goods software company that says, "we can take all you want and give it to you in one complete package."
I fully expect that the second and then subsequent releases of LCS will be far better, offer more robust features, but for now, MSFT has a product that integrates with everything else they have to offer, and it will work.
