Okay, after seven years of being on the side of the PC, I made a significant move yesterday and bought a Mac Powerbook.
First, Skype on the Mac works very well. All you need to do is adjust the echo canceling and the built in mic and speakers are all you need.
I plan on installing Eyebeam later today and then set up the most excellent Broadvoice softphone service.

Welcome aboard!
You can easily use a bluetooth headset if you have one, and pair it to go for Skype.
Give NetNewsWire a shot for reading the news and either MarsEdit or Ecto for blogging it.
Welcome to the world of using a computer versus maintaining one. :-). I made the switch about a year and a half ago and never looked back.
I echo Jonathan’s comments – I use NetNewsWire and Mars Edit for most of my blogging.
No problems as well thus far with the newest Skype for Mac beta.
Of course, you’ll want to get ready to try out the new version of iChat A/V which ships next month with Tiger and includes support for h.264/Mpeg4 as well as both audio and video conferencing. See the write-up on my blog and the demo on Apple’s web site.
