Proving the convergence of VoIP to Mobile is upon us, today Skype let me know that in Sweden, mobile operator 3 and Skype have collaborated to combine mobile communications services.
3 and Skype will be offering a joint mobile broadband subscription with unlimited usage, a PC-card and a Skype starter kit with a traditional SkypeIn number (including software, headphones with a microphone and 30 free SkypeOut minutes).
The subscription is binding for a period of 18 months and supplies the user with a mobile computer broadband connection and 1GB of data traffic.
3 and Skype offer also a subscription with unlimited usage, including a PC-card for 499 SEK per month.
This is only slightly ahead of Boingo announcing something similar here in the USA but not with Skype.
