Expect some news out of CeBit today about Yahoo having an adapter like device from Siemens that works with the Gigaset line of home and office phones. With the adapter your Yahoo buddy list moves off the computer and onto the telephone handset much like some of the Skype products were announced to do last January at CES.
It is supposed to be out in the 3rd quarter of this year, which is likely the latest when the Yahoo Messenger PSTN In/Out service, that was announced last year, will likely have also found its way to the USA shores, if not sooner 🙂
Actually my sources at Yahoo tell me that the In/Out feature is actually due “soon.” Maybe next week at VON Yahoo’s Jeff Bonforte will have an update and also show us how it works with this new hardware.
Good deal. Aswering voip calls on the PC is fast becoming outdated and having such gateway for yahoo is the right thing to do.
