Truphone Gets Google Eyed and Is GTalking

The folks at Truphone continue to impress me with their smarts.

Today they announced interoperable calling with Google Talk.

Since Gtalk is gaining momentum and will likely be one of the biggest growth players in VoIP this year the crossover between an XMPP platform which GTalk runs on, and SIP, which TruPhone has nailed on Nokia E and N series devices is a really good move.

I fully expect to see SipPhone come back with something like this with GizmoProject as SIPPhone and Google both promoting, like Earthlink, the idea of Federation. With this move by TruPhone it shows they get the federation approach and have simplified how the consumers can make better use of it.
