Bonne Chance Mon Ami, Loic

I remember when the crap around LesWeb3 hit last year. I was in Paris with my fiance Helene, and we were having coffee at the Columbus Coffee House with VPOD.tv founder Rodrigo Sepulveda Schulz and he explained all the commotion around Loic (who was also invited to join us for breakfast.)

After hearing the facts as Rodrigo presented them I was basically shocked that so many bloggers were opposed because in my mind Loic had gone back to the roots of what the Internet was really about. It didn’t matter that there was “politics” involved. Loic had stepped out on a limb and done what he felt was right. It was a decision I openly supported and asked others for help with. Most declined, but privately and publicly I saw nothing wrong with his efforts then.

When you look back now and see that his conference as he has in that post and realize that Loic had the next presidential elect up on stage you have to realize the vision and insight he had back in the fall.

This is not something trivial, and the creation of a more business focused France is what laid in the balance. A strong supporter of capitalism is good for all, especially those of us here in the USA who need those types of government leaders supporting the western way of life. An anti lazy economic model is what Loic was expressing and I commend him for his guts and gusto to espouse that.
