Audio Conference Just GaBoogie

One of the ways to know if something is going to be great is how fast it takes to get someone to say “cool.” In the case of GaBoogie, a new web based conference calling platform and service, that took all of 10 seconds.

Without a doubt the ease of use, feature rich service is something that only a person who uses conference calls can love. While I’ll leave product reviews to others who like to write them, I’m a power user of conference calls, and usually am on now up to six a day, not counting the three way calls that seem to happen on the fly two or three times a day.

Gaboogie is both a breath of fresh air, as its all Ajax web site, well thought out feature set and low costs per minutes (5 cents to 11 cents) with all the features included in the price.

When people talk about Voice 2.0, like GrandCentral and iotum, Gaboogie is another sure fired idea whose time has come.

  1. Andy, interesting post, but the service is rediculously expensive. A ten person conference call lasting an hour would cost 600 “gaboogie” minutes, or close to $70.00 based on their published rate plans.
Compare that with freeconferencecall.com and I don’t see how this service succeeds.

  2. Gaboogie delivers conference call notification for mobile users and attendee phone number updates mechanism.

The most obvious pain in setting up conference calls is the coordination and notification / invitation of those calls but also the hassle of having to remember the PIN and 1-800 number to call at the precise moment the call…

  3. Thanks for the write up Andy.
Irwin, your comments regarding free service are valid, if the customer does not care about anything other than cost per minute.
Fortunately for Gaboogie, companies that are serious about reducing hands-on hassle are saving money in the time it takes to schedule and manage conference calls. They are not focused solely on the price per minute.
The $3B audio conferencing industry is growing. The majority of the revenue is coming from larger organizations where time management is more important.
When we were building our business plan the research clearly outlined the reasons to avoid building a business around loop holes in state law that could change at any moment. I think AT&T is likely to agree, not that I agree with the bullying approach they have taken in this matter.
As for our rate plans, if you compare our rates to the rest of the industry (freebies aside) you will find we are very competitive at the higher minute packages.
Anytime you would like a demo just send me an email: erik@gaboogie.com or take advantage of the free 100 minutes you get when signing up and Gaboogie me: 1.604.629.7991, it won’t cost you a dime.
