HD Voice Summit This Week in NYC

Jeff Pulver is back into the VoIP game, sort of. He’s hosting a conference this week in New York City which I wish I was attending, but client commitments and another event here on the west coast this week are keeping me “closer to home.”

The HD Voice Summit promises to delve into the aspects of why higher definition voice quality is important for the future. To me, having HD in the conference platform we use, from Citrix Online’s (VAPPS) High Definition Conferencing makes a big difference in my conference calls.

Having companies like client GIPS supporting Jeff is also a good sign. It shows that there is still a belief in the industry that getting out there and being part of the live conversation still matters too.

Last week when I was in London I must have had over a dozen HD Conference calls. I was able to connect via Skype and have pristine quality calls. What’s most important though was some of my calls from inside London’s Black Cabs. I was able to use the INQ SkypePhone and connect with just one click to my pre-saved conference rooms effortlessly. The cost? FREE on Three’s new Skype plan. So think about it. Here I was in London, five to eight time zones away, connecting at better quality for free to a flat rate service with better quality than what most of the conference suppliers even offer, and the call was in HD because Three is an all digital network.

Now that rocks.
