Google and Slack both took advantage of the news slowdown to make noise today. Yesterday Slack announced their $80 million dollar developer fund to generate more integrations with what is rapidly becoming the Enterprise and Small Business home screen for team and cross team collaboration. 

Google made ProjectFI very relevant for global data users. Today they announced the addition of tablet deployment. The key. International at flat rate as they are basically jumping on T-Mobile's global roaming partnership platform.

Google brings Project Fi data service to iPads, Nexus and Galaxy tablets | ZDNet

Google's pay-for-what-you-use Project Fi phone service has a new trick and a new SIM card: One for adding data to tablets. New Project Fi SIM cards will soon be available for an initial five tablets although Google says that any slate equipped with a radio compatible with T-Mobile's network may work.

Slack Launches $80 Million Fund to Boost Third-Party Development

Workplace collaboration company Slack says it has set up an investment fund intended to make early-stage investments in companies building apps that will enhance its popular application. The $80 million Slack Fund has been established in partnership with venture capital firms Accel, Andreessen Horowitz, Index Ventures, KPCB, Spark Growth and Social Capital.

Pinterest To Open Promoted Pins For All US Businesses
