Back in the earliest of days on the World Wide Web index sites were the rage. In many ways, Yahoo was the first to create a massive index that was adopted, even though there were many other smaller sites. Search became the buzzword and AskJeeves, Excite, GO2 and more were all the rage, and then Google came along and pretty much won the war.
In many ways Google and the other search engines did a good job at killing off the “index” sites, and we became more and more “bookmark” focused But even bookmarks have become unwieldy if you’ve been online longer than a month and have many varied interests.
That’s why when I came across the Designer Daily Report, which is a Chrome Extension of all things, I became very intrigued and interested. After over a week of using it, I’m hooked.
First, I’m not a designer, but I do use design related tools. I’m more into productivity and when I saw what’s on the many useful lists, I was more than happy. It’s got something for just about everyone. While it may not have every app, service, or integration known to man, it does have enough that you can likely find something to help solve a design, creative or productivity need.
Created by the folks at Panda who want to be your “homepage”, the resource is a great example of curation and content presentation, in an elegant, and also well structured way. If you’re into design or just like to know what tools can be helpful to you, click over to the Designer Daily Report and make your life richer and easier.
