Sports Business: I Got Tired of Looking at Ten Sites. So I Built One Site for Everybody.

The Comunicano Sports Intelligence Scoreboard

Somewhere between my third browser tab and my fourth coffee, I had the thought that has launched a thousand startups: there has to be a better way.

Sports business news is everywhere. Front Office Sports. Sports Business Journal. Sportico. SportsPro. Stadium Tech Report. The Athletic. Adweek. Business Wire. PR Newswire. GlobeNewswire. Legal Sports Report. Law360 Sports & Betting. Sports Geek. Unofficial Partner. The Joe Pomp Show. Sports Tech Feed. StreamTime Sports. SBJ Morning Buzzcast. The beat goes on.

Every morning, if you want to actually know what is happening in the business of sports, you are doing archaeology. You are digging. You are tabbing. You are clicking, scrolling, bookmarking, and ultimately forgetting half of what you found because it was buried three tabs deep by the time your eggs got cold.

I have been in this business for over fifty years (yes I started at age 14 with the Philadelphia Wings, move to The Philadelphia Flyers at 16, then to The Denver Nuggets Front Office at 28).

In that time, I have watched sports go from a pleasant diversion to a full-scale industrial economy. Media rights. Sponsorship deals. Stadium naming. Private equity. Streaming wars. Technology buildouts that would make NASA blush. This is not a beat anymore. This is a universe.

And yet there was no single place where a serious person could sit down, get oriented, and actually understand what happened today across the whole landscape. Agency mergers and layoffs. Sports tech funding rounds. Marketing campaigns and sponsorship deals. League and franchise transactions. Executive moves. Sports law. Events. All of it, in one place, organized by category, filterable by time.

So we built one.

Today I am announcing the Beta Debut of the Comunicano Sports Intelligence Scoreboard at comunicanosportsreport.netlify.app. It is an aggregation dashboard that is pulling sports business intelligence from 18 publications, wire services, and podcasts that cover the industry with any seriousness. One screen. Multiple sources. Updated in real time. No login. No friction. No paywall between you and situational awareness.

This is not a product. It is a point of view made functional.

I built it because our clients need it. Our readers need it. And frankly, I needed it. Every strategist, every executive, every investor or sponsor, or media buyer who operates in or adjacent to the sports economy has been doing the same ten-tab shuffle every morning. I just decided to stop complaining about it and do something about it.

Is it finished? No. It is a beta. It will get smarter. It will get faster. It will cover more. I look forward to hearing from you, and together with your input, we will build accordingly. Tell me sources I’ve missed. Tell me features you’d like to see added. Most of all tell me honestly what it does for you.

So for now, it is real, live, and useful. Which, in my experience, beats perfect and delayed every single time.

Go look. Bookmark it. Tell me what you think. Tell me what is missing. Tell me what you love.

The scoreboard is up. The game is on.
