1. They have an App Store. Device manufacturers or OS manufacturers without an App Store don’t have an easy way to move apps that move devices.
2. Its got a keyboard. For the crowd that doesn’t want a Blackberry it’s the platform that has more.
3. It has WiFi. Yes, Virginia, we can stay connected.
4. It has 3G. This drives data plan sales.
5. It has Google behind it. They innovate.
You’re confusing Android – the OS – and any HW that’s manufactured, like the G1 from T-Mobile.
1 and 5 are (potentially) good points re: Android.
2 – 4 are related to, I’m assuming, the G1 that you like.
