Verizon will be getting out of the AirFone business.
In both the short and the long run this is smart move. The use of AirFone’s has been a declining business as more cell phones get used because people have access to a phone right up to take off and shortly after landing. No longer are people out of touch for as long as they used to be.
And with in flight WiFi and VoIP calls coming real soon, it’s better to bite the bullet and get out sooner, rather than later for Verizon.
