A report from IDC shows that VoIP uptake will continue and that more players will enter the game.
The report indicates that more of the MSO’s in the cable biz will get involved as well as other service providers will get into the VoIP service business for residential customers.
The timing of the announcement, during NTCA in San Francisco also can’t be overlooked. What’s clear is that VoIP is a significant part of many of the cable operator’s future plans, as is niche content and very geographic based advertising sales, well beyond and below the system level.
