GoogleTalk came out yesterday. They seem to be on an interoperability kick in my opinion, further supporting the rumor of and open standards federation.
Watch the fur fly around this one. For companies not in alignment with either it means the Cisco arsenal is in their way. For Cisco and Intel to be working together it means the silicon layer and the hardware products become one.
