I was going to blog this too, but Om got the gist down before me. As you know I’ve regulalry said Covad overpaid for GoBeam, an unproven player in the hosted PBX business whose VC’s didn’t even want to use the technology. There’s also CallTower out there with a working business, powered by Cisco hardware. … Read more
Rumours keep flying about AOL VoIP, this time from Canada. I wonder if voice mail ends up in the AOL mail box or notifies you by AIM when you have some? Could be good, eh !
A telecom consultant in South Carolina writes a nice story about the FCC and VoIP regulation. The thinking here is rather consistent with what all of us waving the VoIP flag have been saying. Keep the states and local governments away from VoIP for now.
A survey from Sprirent Communications shows that more people than ever before are becoming converts and believers about VoIP. This bodes well, especially when you look at the companies users trust.
I think this new blog called Real-Time will be worthy of keeping an eye out. The author writes for BCR (Business Communications Review) one of the best authorities in Enterprise IP Voice related topics and he’s also with The Burton Group. Those two factors gives him instant credibility in my book.

During the fall VON I was asked by Jeremy Wagstaff, Far East Asia columnist for the Wall Street Journal, to give him some insight about VoIP. Since I’m a regular reader and sometimes comment poster on Jeremy’s blog, LooseWire I was elated to be able to be the authority in his story. Once the WSJ … Read more
Port-of-call: Libretel’s flat-rate incoming 1-800 service Leonardo has a note about Port Of Call, the service from one of Jeff Pulver’s companies. I’ve actually used PoC to retrieve voice mail when I’m in London from my CallVantage Voice Mail service. It works as advertised. Just remember when using a cell phone to have DTMF turned on.
I have installed an interesting application – BlogJet. It’s a cool Windows client for my blog tool (as well as for other tools). Get your copy here: http://blogjet.com What I like about it most of all is that BlogJet actually includes a Spell Checker. I admit, I’m not the best typist, and sometimes my proofreading … Read more
