I think you are also seeing the end of traditional PBX and Centrex services as part of this migration to an always on, always connected IP environment for voice and more advanced services.

SBC and Boingo Tie The WiFi Roaming Knot

The value of a Boingo account just got bigger as they are combining with SBC to offer each other’s customers roaming between both networks hotspots. While the agreement opens up many of the hotspots that SBC built out (i.e. UPS Stores) it excludes the McDonalds restaurant locations as those are Wayport built out properties.
