A report that is a month or so old keeps coming back to me about WilTel’s assets owned by Leucadia National Corp. being sold to Level 3. I’m blogging it to see if it raises any smoke signals out there..

This is called positioning. Obviously some PR person inside Time Warner, that is in the middle of a prolonged downsizing is trying to say “hey, we’re not discriminating” when it comes to hiring and firing. Using VoIP, which is a hot topic with the media right now, is a way to tell their story.

A report out in the wild has AT&T CallVantage offering E-911 soon.

The folks at Engadget found this first, but I think it’s interesting enough to go to the source. A phone that works on both Skype and PSTN…and is wireless..Very cool.

VoIP is part of the reason the Canadian telecom market will see major shifts according to a new report. This comes on the heals of a story making the rounds in Canada of Bell Canada becoming a factor in VoIP. Timing? Or, coincidence?

I’ve said it before, with VoIP it’s all about the applications. Om pointed me to the VoIP Yawn which seems to have come to the same conclusion.
