Alcatel, the French telecom giant, has planted its flag on Vietnam.
If there is a country to watch for rapid growth in the Southeast Asian market, it’s Vietnam. They have a very industrious workforce, have been planning their Internet policies for at least the last four years, have based the laws to be globally friendly.
Like Korea, they will be a significant consumer market for all forms of Telecom. This is a big win for Alcatel, and expect other companies with a global presence to be working the Vietnam market in more aggressive ways.
