Internet Telephony Publisher Salutes Call Vantage

Pal Rich Tehrani, who I’ve known off and on for a few years has a very positive first person account on his AT&T Call Vantage experience, while dissing Vonage at the same time.

While my number portability experience with Vonage was very painless, seems Rich’s was so bad he ended up swapping out for AT&T’s CV.

Speaking of Tehrani, he’s got a IP Telephony Developer’s conference coming up. While Jeff Pulver’s VON gets the lions share of attention Tehrani has not so quietly turned his conference series into the largest telephony trade events in the USA, and seems to attract a good international crowd.

  1. Andy,
Fall 2004 VON will be an event with expected attendence to exceed 5,000 people. I’m not quite sure where you received the information on the size of the other VoIP events in the USA.
As far as I can tell, when Fall 2004 VON happens in Boston in October, it will be the largest pure-play VoIP event ever — passing the 4,000+ people who were a part of Spring 2000 VON in San Jose.
