I keep thinking that Verizon is going to offer a pure triple play with video sometime soon.
Do the cable companies have to start looking at the telcos as a serious threat. YUP.
All it will take is for Verizon to sign The Yes Network in New York and watch the whole world change.
Andy: How in the world can Verizon offer video? I have a 3mps download from my cable provider and it would take forever to download an episode of friends. What am I missing? Wouldnt the Bells need to have fiber like speed to deliver video up to par with cable or sat?

Amazing mind-meld Andy! In both our blog entries, we came to almost the same exact conclusion that Verizon needs to offer a triple play (add video).
That’s all fine and great, but what about the ~$30 /month you still have to pay for POTS to get the DSL. Or is VZ going to offer “naked” DSL?
