  1. If VoIP is all about applications, then shouldn’t the vendors be competing on the feature set, not price, of their offering? I tend to agree with you, but I just don’t see the market putting any value to those features, at least not anytime soon. Until then, VoIP will remain a service that is bought/sold entirely on price.

  2. There is no value to the services provided by VoIP service providers because a SP is not intrinsically needed; the end points can realize them on their own. The only service that is currently priced is PSTN (widely viewed to be a dinosaur) interconnection.
