Um..What About The Mac?

Lots of Skype plug ins and add-ons, but for those of us in the Mac world, it seems we have to wait. Why? Well according to one Skype developer I Skyped with last week, the Skype API for the Mac isn’t really there yet…

But Will It Offer VoIP?

Broadband Over Power Lines is coming to San Diego as a test from SDG&E. I sure hope they bring it over to Del Mar and Solana Beach as part of the expanded test. I also want to know if they plan to offer VoIP. Guess I better make some calls next week.

Om’s Essay on Silicon Valley

Om took some time, likely smoked a few Dunhills, found a good spot to sit and reflect and cranked out a wonderful piece about Silicon Valley and it’s next wave. He talks about Bio-Informatics, and a week ago got the lowdown on Verseon, a very hot, off the radar play that’s been quietly (well not … Read more

VoIP in The Air

Hat Tip to Joi Ito for linking to the Connexion list. I’m sure Jeff Pulver will want to bookmark this even if Jet Blue’s not on it (yet). I’m already planning my next European trip and plan to fly one of the airlines that has this..Guess I have to sleep BEFORE the flight, not on … Read more

The new cordless combo router, phonebase and VoIP box from Uniden and Packet8, which I hope to try soon, will be available in even more places. Already available online at Costco.com, Amazon.com and the Packet8.net web site, Uniden has been able to leverage their relationship with Frys and Officemax to broaden distribution. One retailer that’s … Read more

How Is Vonage First?

Vonage executives like to live in their own world. They only talk about what’s important to them. They don’t reply to questions that may not be advantageous for them to answer and they hold off commenting until people may forget they asked the question. This has become more apparent ever since the 911 fiasco is … Read more

RIM and Intel

Mark Evans tipped me off to this story in the National Post. It’s an important and significant story for if it pans out the move changes the way people would work, with RIM’s messaging management at the core as it works on more platforms the same way, unlike Microsoft (Outlook, Pocket Outlook, Entourage) yet, integrates … Read more
